Consumer Tech Support, LLC BIO and Offered Services
Brad Copeland - Owner and Operator
I am in the computer technical services industry because I like to solve problems. In my previous jobs, I always ended up as 'defacto' technical support person. So, I started my own company, Consumer Tech Support, which I run out of my home-office in Minnetonka. Did you know that the most important tool in a tech support person's toolbox is Google? I am dedicated to complete customer service and I never leave a job unfinished or expect you to figure out how to tie up loose ends.
My niche is working with customers who are 60 and older. If you're in this age group, I feel your pain. Keeping up with the constant and unintuitive changes regarding technology seems impossible. But, with just a few tutoring sessions and then some practice, you can become 'comfortable enough' using technology. You have to understand three things: (a) drives, folders, and files, (b) Email, and (c) WWW browsers (e.g., Firefox, Safari or Chrome). There are hundreds of other things to understand regarding technology, but only these three are necessary for proficiency.
I can relate to users' trouble with technology. You should see how out of place I am in a kitchen or trying to replace the line in my weed whacker. Not a pretty sight. Few of us are as proficient at all the things we have to be able to do these days, and technology is the archetypal example of something that we feel 'behind' regarding proficiency.
In my spare time I enjoy family and friends (and making both laugh), video games, video editing, movies (my friends refer to me as IMDB), and taking my dogs to the dog park.
