Question: My wireless signal is weak or keeps falling off. What is the solution?

 

Answer: This is most likely an issue with distance and/or interference. If possible, move your router (even 3 feet can make a world of difference). If that isn't possible, move the wireless antenna that's attached to your computer (or the computer itself).

 

Question: Even though I didn't install any new programs, an annoying one keeps popping up, advising me to 'activate' it. It seems this program isn't going to let me do anything until I do. Do I have a virus?

 

Answer: This is a type of virus called 'scareware'. It is the most common type of virus today, and happens to safe and unsafe surfers alike. Visit the DIY Virus Removal page to see if you can remove it yourself. Even if you can't remove it, you might save yourself some money/time when you have a professional remove it.
